Varo began his personal, culturally driven collection in 2005 while attending Otis College of Art and Design. Like most artist, with the intent of one day becoming established and recognized for his creative talents. He gradually became more focused on this project as his experience working in the music industry, from 2010 to 2015, gave him an insight on the exploitation of artist by corporations. From the album art designers, music video directors, music composers and even the principal performing artist were all being robbed of their intellectual property through the mishandling of their licensing. After stepping away from a successful career producing album artwork for the top Mexican Regional Artist of his time, Varo decided to embrace his true purpose. To produce art directly for the people. Most importantly, for the community that surrounds him. This body of work was first and foremost created to empower and awaken our brown youth as much as it is to inspire us all to be better to ourselves, each other, and our environment. But most importantly to defend the defenseless, while we pave a path for a better world for all.
